Design
The design of this skirt is based on the 1895 walking skirts, with influences of a modern take of the Gilded Age aesthetic.
Patternmaking
I took inspiration for making the pattern from the instructions of the walking skirt from “The ‘Keystone’ Jacket and Dress Cutter an 1895 Guide to Women’s Tailoring.”, with AD&D’s instructions on making a 8 gore skirt, while adding the largest jean style pockets known to man in the front.
