Shibori Button Up 2

Garment

Design

It’s a pretty basic button up. The one thing I noticed in common with both Taisho and 1940s America fashion was big sleeves. For this shirt I made them into bishop sleeves. I also extended the points of the collar like men’s collars on some 1940s button ups.

Fabrication

Arashi Shibori dyed the shirt with indigo

Patternmaking

I used a button up block. I made the sleeves into bishop sleeves. I extended the points of the collar. I also pleated the front patch pockets.
