Apollo’s Dream Button Up

Design
The design really was born from the print the shirt was made from: Mood’s Apollo Disguise. This made me think of the constellations, ancient Roman sculptures, and a bit of inspiration from my favorite Sailor Scout, Sailor Saturn, in the choice of buttons and contrast topstitching
Patternmaking
I used a button up block, which for the most part fitted, except I had to make the neck seam larger, which in turn meant I had to make the collar pieces larger too. To get across the sculpture effect I added pleats to the sleeve cap.
